Hello! My name is Caitlin Patterson and I am the founder and face behind Bluebird Song School. I am a singer-songwriter and a decade-long music teacher. I absolutely love the craft of songwriting. As a little girl I remember writing simple poetry and wondering how I could make my words fit to music. In middle school I picked up my older sister's barely-touched guitar and started eking out chords and pairing them with my singing. I began to make music with no formal understanding of how music "works" or barometer on how "good" I was. Now, decades later, I have a rich and layered background with songwriting, vocal technique, and guitar-playing. I've gigged, written, completed music school, recorded, collaborated, and taught loads of budding (and blossomed) musicians. A major takeaway from my journey thus far is that music-making is better when shared with others.
I am so excited to launch Bluebird, where aspiring musicians of all levels can develop their skills, confidence, and creativity in collaborative small groups. Thanks for considering joining the movement!
The Bluebird Mission

Bluebird Song School believes in the magic that comes from learning and playing music with others! We seek to facilitate high-quality, creative, and collaborative music instruction for all levels. One of Bluebird's core beliefs is that music-making is best within a real-life community—nothing beats in-person! Bluebird offers progressive, thoughtfully crafted lessons in a supportive and engaging small-group setting, over a 10-week period. Musicians (and aspiring musicians) come together to learn with and from one another. Bluebird hopes that music students leave their classes feeling more empowered and inspired, having gained new skills, knowledge, and artistic confidence.
